For our Engineering Ends Department based in our Technical Center Bonn we are looking for a highly qualified, extremely motivated Project Engineer CAD design (m/f).

 

We expect and offer:

  • Design of new / modification of existing tooling for the production of beverage ends
  • Trial planning, documentation, assessment and presentation of results
  • Testing of tooling packages in production working in a team
  • Co-operation with European production plants and Ball Corporation
  • Obtaining competitive quotations from multiple suppliers and follow up orders
  • Preparation of drawings of company-specific tooling & machine layouts
  • Use of the 'Data Management System' to administer and archive drawings
  • Tooling parts design to address manufacturing / performance issues
  • Identification of solutions to reduce product costs
  • Independent follow-up of cost and dates for projects
  • Optimisation of forming processes
  • Co-operation with suppliers and customers
  • A highly motivated multinational team working throughout Europe

Skills Profile:

  • University degree / B Eng. (Hons.) Manufacturing / Engineering, ideally major design
  • Apprenticeship toolmaker, preferably punching & forming tools
  • Professional experience in CAD tooling design (several years)
  • Good knowledge of punching and forming tools using thin sheet metal, preferably aluminium alloys
  • Extensive CAD knowledge 2d and 3D, preferably AutoCAD / Inventor
  • Strong ability to quickly understand complex forming processes
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken. Other European languages are an advantage

  • Flexibility, willingness to travel (limited basis)
